What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is an orthodontic treatment modality that is a more esthetic alternative to regular braces, involving a series of custom-fabricated, clear, removable aligner trays. The aligners gradually move the teeth and are changed at prescribed intervals.
How does Invisalign Work?
First an impression or scan is taken, along with photos and radiographs, and Dr. Kader uses this information to virtually plan the tooth movements. The aligners are then 3D printed to deliver the planned movements.
For the best possible results, “Invisalign Attachments” are required. These are tooth-coloured buttons bonded to the tooth surfaces that allow the trays to place the required forces on the teeth.
Patients must wear the trays for at least 22 hours a day for the treatment to work. Success of treatment is directly related to patient compliance with regard to amount of aligner wear.
Dr. Kader is a Certified Invisalign Provider, and has received additional Invisalign training.
